Bilsborrow Pub Walk

As we are getting ready for another of our weekend wyre walks, i thought I would post this one we did which was a lovely 4 mile walk starting at Owd  Nells pub and going along the canal.

This os thw remains of someone's Hall, it was in a fruit orchard and used to be the railway workers houses and next to an old railway station where we stopped to each lunch. They had turned the area into a little outdoor class room and there was a notice board with the history of the station. One of the things I love about these walks we have been going on is the little bits of history we would never normally see, and it makes the walks more interesting for the kids.
This is the remains of an old paper mill.
Next was my favorite part of the walk that I am calling the secret garden. A public right of way that went though someones garden but they had made a little hedged cut through that lead to the field behind, it was so nice and felt really hidden.
Ewan doesn't really like to come with us on our outing much anymore, this time he stayed at home to paint his skateboard deck, which looked great when he had finished.
