Shipwreck!

For years I have promised Ewan we would walk out to the wreck of the Albana in Cleveleys and i really don't know why its taken us so long, apart from we usually go to a different part of the beach and they have been putting in a new prom for the last few years ,so we just haven't got round to it. But now we live round the xorner from this part of the beach we ha e been going more often, but didn't time it right till now with the tide.

We had actually been at Anchorsholme park for most of the day, came home had tea and went straight back out again to the beach. It was such a warm summer evening and the tide was completely out, we couldn't have picked a better time.

The wreck is of the Albana that ran a ground in a storm in 1894. All the crew and ships dog were rescued and the bell was presented to the area and still hangs at St Andrews Church, where I usws to go to Sunday School.
It was nice that Ewan came with us, he often preferes to be with his friends these days, he's at that age, but its nice when he comes with us on outings and i suppose he had waited long enough to go out to the wreck!
Walking back we found quite a bit of sea glass to add to our growing collection. We were out for a couple of hours and the fresh air definable made for a good nights sleep !

The Best Weekend!

One on the last weekends on the holidays was definitely our favorite. The weather had been so hot and and we decided to head to Rossall beach beach in the evening, we took a flask with some hot chocolate and some biscuits with us and i took my knitting, the kids spent hours playing on the beach, the tide was quite near and at Rossall it rarely comes in right to the wall. It was so warm there were even people swimming in the sea, we stayed till after the sunset and it went dark, it couldn't have been a more perfect night.

On Saturday I was in Cleveleys doing a people count for a local project to capture the footfall in the centre, it was so hot sat in the sun!

Then came Saturday evening and what i had been waiting for.... a band we really like call the Lancashire Hotpots were having an online concert and we had bought tickets😃. The hotpots have kept us entertained all through lockdown with weekly quizzes that we have all enjoyed and we were looking forward to the concert. With the weather being so good we decided to get the projector and screen out as as it was starting whilst it was still light we put it inder the hottub shelter, which actually was a really good idea we discovered later.
Fred is a huge fan, so had his flat cap and t-shirt on!
We had burgers and snacks for tea, i was going to do a BBQ, but just wanted to sit and enjoy myself, so just cooked them in the oven. We both had a few drinks and sat back to enjoy the show.
As it got darker we put the disco lights on as well, it looked like a real little festival stage!
We all got up dancing and singing, i have no idea what the neighbours thought! But the show ended at 10.30pm so it wasn't too late, the kids had all took themselves off to bed by that point and it was just me and Paul left, and we were definitely a bit merry at the end!

Cloud Person

Whilst me and Molly were watching the Sewing bee, I had the urge to get my machine out, its been ages since I have done any sewing, but as it was lock down and i didn't have large peices of fabric, just bits and pieces, I settled for a cloud person, the a rain drop and a moon. I love them they are so cute, me and Molly are planning some more 😍

Molly's 11th Birthday

Mollys 11th birthday a couple of weeks ago was also the first time we have had my parents round since lockdown. Mollys birthday was actually on the Monday, but as the weather was going to be good on Sunday and we weren't working we decided to celebrate it then, with all her presents and her cake.
Molly wanted a surprise cake and I know she like the cute Narwhals so with Freds approval that what I made her the night before and she loved it!

Her main present was a phone, but because she is starting high school in September and like me she loves stationary, I made her a gift basket with all she will need for school.
We had a BBQ and cake for pudding.
The weather was fantasic as it was so nice to just sit and have a few drinks, while the kids played outside.
