Visting Galas Part 2-

The last few weeks have brought more galas, we had Bispham & Norbreck Gala,at this one we had Poco Loco behind us which are a Samba Band, i love these guys they are great and you can't help but want to dance!

Alex was feeling left out so i decided to put him on the float for the last stretch, he loved it! he didn't move off his seat and waved at everyone, but kept putting his head down like he was shy

He got a big Ice cream after!

The week was quite warm so spent time in the garden, just filled up the old sand pit though instead of the big pool, Fred complained it was cold and asked if it could be hot, like the hot tub, sorry Fred this is what kids get!

I had some tub time, at night and started reading this book, The Mist in the Mirror, by Susan Hill who wrote The woman in Black, i was gripped and read it all day and just had to finish it which i managed just before bed,but was so so so disappointed, it just ended without really explaining anything, i thought i must have missed something so googled it and found everyone else saying the same thing, such a sham as the build up was great, just lacked an ending

We had a trip to the fountain again

And went to Mollys school on the last day of term to watch  the climax to cultural week, which was a parade around the playground, each class had a different country and had decorated a shopping trolley, so it was like a mini gala! Its no surprise that a couple of the teaching assistants are involved with or have been involved with the galas! it was great, so glad that we moved her and that Fred will be starting there

So last Saturday was the final gala!!! Staining & Normoss, the sun was out, finally, this year has seen quite a few rainy galas.

Sue photo bombed Ewan and me!

We all dressed up the parents and some of the committee) from different decades, surprise surprise,i did the 50's. Paul did the 90's as Liam Gallagar.

Alex was on the float dressed as a sea monster as well, he loved it, seems we all have the gala bug, but i am glad its all over for the year and we can look forward to some weekends gala free!

First real Garden Camp out

I am always posting about our garden camp outs, but really we never sleep in the garden just put the tent up and play, cook dinner outside and eat smores. We bought a big tent months ago with the aim of going camping over the summer.

Last Monday night, knowing Tuesday was going to be so hot felt like the perfect night to camp in the garden. As i have never really camped before ( apart from once with the guides)i wanted to see if i liked it.

The kids were really surprised when i picked them up from school and told them what we were doing. I wouldn't normally do something like this on a school night but it was the last few days of school and with all the galas at weekend we never get the chance

Sat outside when its really warm with a cup of tea and my crochet was bliss

We got up super early and had tea and toast, which i made in the kitchen.

So is camping for me?   No not really! I love setting the tent up and cooking on the camping stove , sat round playing and talking to the kids and crocheting, but as for sleeping in the tent i felt really vulnerable and a bit claustrophobic and i was jumping at every noise, think i got about 2 hours sleep!

But the kids loved it, so really i will have to live with it and go camping and we plan on going sometime over the next couple of weeks, if the weather is ok x
