Christmas & New Year 2017

So the Christmas Eve that very nearly went pear shaped...started when we dropped into the supermarket to pick up  couple of last minute bits, only for me to get to the till and realize i had lost Pauls bankcard ..i assume the day before when i had been out shopping, i assume i had left it in a card reader so we swiftly called and cancelled the card, paid and left the supermarket.

Ok well it happens.

Next we headed to the Opera House to see Peter Pan the Musical which i had booked about 6 months earlier, received the tickets and pinned them to the notice board.
What i hadn't noticed however was the fact they were for Boxing Day and not Christmas EVE!!!!!
Paul took the boys to the loo and the show was about to start so i opened the tickets and realised and just kept looking ath them is total disbelief! Paul thought i was joking when i told him.
I have no idea how i had managed that, but i went to the ticket office on the off chance and the lovely lady working her last shift before maternity leave changed them for us as luckily there were some empty seats..just about as the place was packed.

Molly & Ewan really enjoyed the show but the small too were not that impressed to be honest which was a shame as i had thought they would really like it.

We left the show and headed back to the car park, only to discover we had lost the card so could not pay or get out of the car park, at this point tensions were a bit high, but on arriving at the exit and pressing the button and explaining we didn't have the card, the attendant raised the barrier and wished us merry Christmas!!! (last time that happened a few years ago we had to pay a £15 Charge!)

They say that things come in threes, but we were very lucky that day, it could have ended as a disaster.

We saw the funny side when we go home, messing around in our party hats lol!

Without all the rushing around i usually do, i had chance just to relax and enjoy watching the kids excitement, i have some wonderful videos of the kids singing Christmas carols.

This year on Christmas Morning the kids woke at about 7am and the usual chaos ensued

My Parents came for dinner, and we had Lamb, but this was the only picture i took, the started smoked Salmon Terrine

On Boxing day we went to my parents and had a buffet, i was a little bit drunk! (oops)

New Years Eve,i decided to make some new tradisions as we never really "do" new year

We did a balloon pop! I put an activity in each balloon and every hour from 5pm we popped a balloon.
First off was a mini buffett

Then some games, first we had to put tights with a orange in the end and knock down plastic cup, then moving Smarties about with a straw and using a balloon to blow cups off the side. We really did have a laugh!
We made a time capsual to open next New Years Eve

It all went far to quickly and before I knew it we were all back to work and school x

Christmas Eve

It's finally Christmas eve! I am far to excited and sat downstairs while everyone else is still fast asleep. I am writing a last minute shopping list and planning everything I have to do today. There isn't much left to do the main thing will be to stop the boys making a mess and undoing all the work we have done so far! I am not planning on running round all day like I have in other years, because I have realised Christmas eve is acctually better than Christmas day in lots of ways, its the kids excitement that's the best bit. So after a quick shop and last minute tidy up and a bit of prep for tomorrow I am going to make some pulled pork and some other snacks and we can all play some games. I do fancy a walk out to a local close which has completely gone to town on Christmas decorations, this evening. I think now though a bit of diamond painting, another cup of tea and some smoked salmon on toast for my breakfast sounds like a good idea!

So from all of us Happy Christmas!
