Back to Reality

After the last two weeks of Easter holidays, having been able to relax the routine a little, its back to a full schedule of work, school, clubs, homework and housework which leaves little time for my hobbies. Its amazing how much time gets taken up with dropping off and collecting children, no sooner have i dropped E at school and M at nursery on the days she goes, popped home spend a few hours working, and done a few chores ( as well as constantly stopping to look after Little F) i am back waiting to collect one then the other, then off to Gymnastics, Judo,Beavers or whatever they happen to be doing that day. To be honest though i don't mind, its strange but on the days when my mum offers to have them for the day, i feel at a total loss and i dread the day when they don't need me to do it for them.

Whilst i am waiting for them at clubs, i always use the time wisely by taking my crochet or knitting along and have noticed that other are starting to do the same, so a little natter and knit is starting to form!

This week i have mainly been working on squares for my blankets, but i did have time to finish off my Mickey and Minnie hat. I have seen them an quite a few sites but just made them using another pattern i had and adapted it.

I love them!

The Minnie hat was for Little M and she was so delighted with it she wanted to wear it to nursery  which i let her. When i picked her up though the staff couldn't find it so i will now have to keep a look out for another small child who might have claimed it for themselves :) and i will have to make M another.

Well off to bed for me, Its only 8pm but its been a busy work day today, its always the same when it rains, everyone wants to book a holiday, which is good for me as a Travel agent:). Hopefully tomorrow i will have some time to myself so i can do this weeks Granny Squares in the CAL.
Bye for now x

The best laid plans!

Yesterday was lovely and sunny and warmish and it spurred me on the tidy up the garden (well the front garden anyway), ready for summer days sitting outside watching the kids playing out on there bikes, which usually gives me some quite time to work on what ever craft project i am working on at the time. I like to sit in the front as for some unknown reason its like being on another continent as its so much warmer and pleasant than the back garden and we are fortunate enough to overlook a large field. So after all that work ( it took 3 hours and its only about 8 by 16 foot) i felt really deflated to wake up to an overcast and drizzly day. Oh well i thought a cosy day in on the couch with my crochet, but no that wasn't meant to be either as when baby woke he was sick! So as usual the best laid plans........ this is a running theme in our house nothing ever goes to plan, so much so that i don't really know why i ever make any. Hence the name Makings from the Madhouse! I have 3 kids 6,4 and 10 months, a husband,  a newsagents which my husband runs and i help out as and when and get the unfortunate job of the paperwork, i have just started my own business working as a Travel agent from home add in all the clubs and activity's the kids do and the house work it all equals a very hectic life. How i manage to make anything is a miracle.

These are the projects i am working on at the moment

This is going to be my Flower Blanket, so far i have managed 52 square and plan to make either 120 or 140 squares, i will decide one i have seen the size.

These are the first 3 square for a Granny square Blanket that i am making in the first Crochet along i have joined. I found it as i was browsing the web and lucky for me it had just started that day. Its on Knot your nanas Crochet hopefully this is the link http://www.knotyournanascrochet.com/2013/04/granny-square-cal-week-one.html.

So i think now the kids are in bed i will go and sit with my hubby on the couch and crochet some more squares x

Just Getting Started!

I have decided after reading so many fantastic blog's that I would like to start my own to share the things in my life that I enjoy. I am quite new to all this computer stuff aside from work i have always avoided them like the plague apart from the odd trip to Facebook or Babycentre. But recently in my quest for crafting ideas me and my laptop have been almost inseparable!  I never realized there were so many people who, like me enjoy a whole range of crafts. Thanks to this I now have a to do list as long as my arm! So hopefully i will be able to first of all post this post then hopefully set up my Blog over the next few weeks so its just they way i want it to be, this will involve me learning how to do it all which my take some time! Bye for now
