For me i find there is a real cosy feeling to staying in on a dark rainy day when you don't have anywhere you have to be i don't think the kids mind occasionally either, they always seem to manage to dig out toys they haven't played with for a while as they have spent the summer playing outdoors, and we all love to get the games out, monopoly being our favorite even though they are only 4 and 7, the game of life and junior scrabble as well as jigsaws, even i got hooked on those last winter and and enjoyed doing Wasgij, which are puzzles that have no picture just clues and you have to work out what the scene is. I started with 500 pieces but found some 1000 ones at a car boot sale for £1 each which i have been saving.
Heres some of the games stash!
But we could also all curl up an the couch under our warm blankets and watch a film! That would give me some time for crochet!!!!!
I went to my favorite wool shop yesterday and picked up a few supplies....i needed one ball of brown wool for a Rudolph hat and came back with...
Two (above) pop up laundry baskets full and a cupboard full
Plus this basket lives next to my couch!!!
And that just the wool i won't go into the other fabrics and buttons and.... you get the jist!!
It definitely brightens up a dull day.
But i did manage to do the hat i wanted
As it was the last week of term it was time for the school Halloween Disco and as it was Mollys first school event and also its another excuse to get the sewing machine out so i set to work making her a witches out fit. I had seen i tutu style skirt on the web somewhere with a crochet waistband but i could not find it again so as i usually do anyway i made it up as i went along and this is the skirt i came up with.
This week i am hopeing to finish the Rag rug and also Freds Jumper, but it might be a slow week with the kids off.
Bye x
