Canal and Castle walk

With lockdown starting ease now we have started to venture out. We still feel the need to be really careful and want to keep our distance from large groups of people, so dispite living round the corner from the prom, which is always busy in the good weather, we decided to go inland and find some places to go for a walk that could be quiter.

We did a bit of googling and found this walk on the council website, it had a map and directions, and was only 30 minutes drive from home.

We parted up at the start and for the first 15 minutes I was in charge of the map, which Paul quickly took off me when we realises my wonderful sense of direction, had us walking in a circle and ending up back at the start! Oops 🤭

We walked down part of the Lancaster Canal, where the boys enjoyed looking at boats and we found one called Miss Molly!

We walked down paths which used to be old railway lines and had been turned into paths and little woods.
We found the castle, well castle ruins and sat down for a picnic. We couldn't go near the castle as its very unstable.

It took us about 2 and a half hours and after months indoor, with just short walks around the block, it completely wiped us all out and we slept well that night.

We are hoping to get out on more walks soon, but the last couple of weekends the weather has been terrible, I hope the summers not gone completely!
