Fleetwood Beach

A nice relaxing day out for our wedding anniversery starting with a picnic at Stanah, well a soup picnic anyway, I made Cheese and Broccoli Soup. While the kids were exploring in the wood Molly found a painted rock and brought it back to us. There is a new Facebook page where kids decorate rocks and then hide them for others to find and they post pictures so we quickly identified who had hidden it and messaged them to let them know we had found it.

After a while we decided to go to the beach. We went to Fleetwood beach this time and had a lot of fun welly wanging, Paul drew out the target and they lobbed the wellies!
The ice cream shop was open to the kids all had bubble gum ice cream and hot chocolate for me and Paul. We collected lots of shells ready for some crafting just not sure what we will make yet.

Illuminated Trams

Dispite living here all our lives neither of us have ever been ton the illuminated trams! I have no idea how this has happened the illuminated trams have been around forever there is the train tram,  the life boat tram,  the fisherman's friend tram and the rocket tram. Paul saw an advert that it was cheap for locals on a Monday night so dispite it being a school night we went along. The boys were so amazed and thrilled and we were lucky to get on the train tram. Inside it was painted like a train with a boiler and cogs etc. Ewan wasn't that thrilled really and seemed to prefer his phone!  We went from the pleasure Beach to little Bispham and all we way back. It was late by the time we got home and only Ewan was still awake so we just transfered them all to bed x

See! this is the stage that Ewan is at! I suppose i will have to accept that he has reached that age where hanging out as a family is not that thrilling for him

Polymer Clay Makes

We decided to have a go at making jewllery from polymer clay. I managed to get a pack with 24 colours for £12 which I thought was a bargain and I also brought so fastening so we could turn some of our makes into earrings and pendants. I ended up making some playdough for Alex as he just wanted to mix all the colours up! Over all I think we did really well I just love the doughnut that Molly made she is really creative. I am seeing great potential for this clay nearer Christmas.. watch this space

Fred's 5th Birthday & first sports day

Freds 5th Birthday, back in May now. It was his first proper party, where we invited all his new school friends.

It had to be a Minion Cake as he is obsessed with them!
What an easy cake to make

We asked his friends to come wearing minion clothes or dress up

Its like me and my shadow, where there is a Fred you can always find an Alex nearby

Fred also had his first ever sports day!

He came 2nd in all the races!

Back garden Campout & Movie Night

Another post from the summer, this was our holiday this year...really it was, we didn't get away so we camped in the garden and had had a film on the big screen outside.

Paul was not too happy in the morning as he was near the hot tub pump and said it was humming and gurgling all night!

One good thing was that the tub was warm to put your feet on!

I think next year we will have to camp at Smithy Farm again as the kids keep asking about it.

Fireworks & Illuminations

Every Friday in September we ha e the Firework Championships where different country's let firework displays off from the North Pier. One very rainy night we decided to go along and watch. I was working late so Paul picked me up from work on the way and we went and had some chips in the car. Then we decided to drive through the illuminations on the way as we had plenty of time. I still love the illuminations, I never get bored of them, I just think they are such a wonderful thing to have virtually on your doorstep and I have to say the rain on the windscreen made for some great pictures!

We got to the fireworks eventually and it was a great display the kids really enjoyed it. On the walk back to the car we found a wonderful cafe  West Coast Choc Cafe, they have a restaurant round the corner called West Coast Rock Cafe. They had so many different types of milk shake and smooties and all kinds of treats, we just had to try some 😀 for some strange reason the little two weren't keen, but the rest of us thought they were delicious.

On the whole we had a great evening out, I really enjoy getting wrapped up and heading out at this time of year.

September

Autumn is starting to arrive, the nip in the air is creeping in. For the last couple of weeks i have been knitting Fred and Alex new hats for the winter and i want to start one for Molly too, ready for all the wintry walks and outing, Halloween and bonfire night,i just get so excited this time of year, i can't help myself. For most people January is the start of the year, but September has always felt more like a fresh start to me, a time to take on new projects. This time last year i was starting college and getting ready to go back to work as Fred had started school. I finished my college courses, passing them both, my Diploma in working with Children and Young People and i got my C in GCSE Maths. I felt very proud of myself considering how busy i have been the last six months and all the other things i have achieved this year. I am sad though that i have decided not to carry on and start the Degree course this year, becoming a Councillor as well as having a full time job and a family means that i will just not have the time to spend on it, so its on the back burner for now and i will see what happens in the future, but it was sad to see most of the others in my class all signing up.

It is nice to have some more times for my crafting again and i have just ordered some new supplies, to try out some new crafts with the kids.

I have started a CAL and for this one it will all be in one colour, its strange for me as i love the bright colour ways but this one was all one colour and i thought it would be nice, i am already 4 blocks behind but as i not very week this weekend and plan to rest (will see if that happens!) i might just get caught up.
