Some of the galas give out prize money and Ewan got £5 and Molly & Fred got £4 each, which brings this years total prize money to £28
The parade took an hour and a half and right before we set off my tire on the pram hissed, poppped and went flat as a pancake so i had to push it all the way round like that, hard wok but good exercise.
Next Saturday is the last Gala of the season and the committee have decided to dress up and enter as a group, so another week of costume making ahead!
On Friday night we had a fundraiser for the Gala, a BBQ and Games night. It went really well and a good night was had by all. It was rather windy so we cooked the food inside and i had prepared four quiz sheets with catch phrases and other things like that, so that people could fill them in as they when they wanted during the night and then at the end i read out the answers and gave out the prizes. We did have some games planned for the kids but they all went out side in a big group and played on a big tree in the Car park, so i though best leave them to it as as the adults were all enjoying sitting and have a drink, they had a whale of a time.
It was great to see the place so busy. in one of the rooms we set out some stilts and hula hoops and stuff for the younger ones and some adults!
Paul took some of our kids home at 9.30pm and then at 10.30 i took the other and the went straight back and a few of us stayed to have a drink and didn't finish till 12.30am. I haven't stayed out like that for ages. It was funny when i got home and said here the kids i am off!
We will be booking some more nights like that. Also we got 3 new committee members.
