Slow cooked Mustard Maple Pulled Pork

At the moment this is my favorite winter picnic food, i have made it countless times on our little outings, its so easy and so tasty, and i keep getting asked for the recipe so i thought i would share it here as well.

So this is what you need:

 2kg Shoulder of Pork
300g Light Brown Sugar
100g Maple Syrup
100g Wholegrain Mustard
2 tbsp English Mustard
1/4 tsp salt

How To:

Remove the any string off the Pork and place it in a roasting bag

Add all the ingredients to the bag, tie the bag and use your hands to mix it all up and around the bag

Pop the bag into a slow cooker and fill the crock pot with water so the bag is nearly covered.

Turn the slow cooker on to automatic and leave it to cook!

Its that simple!

I usually put mine on before i go to bed and turn it off when i get up, so its on about 8 hours.

Once its turned off i leave it where it is till i am getting ready to go out

Then take the bag out and open it up, be careful its usually full of juice, so you might need to drain some away

Don't get rid of it all though

Get a fork and it will just fall apart

If its for a picnic i then transfer it to a food flask and pour over the juices

Then i add a packet of bread rolls to the picnic bag and sometimes i fry some onions as well to add to the flasks.

Once we are out and ready to eat its still really hot and juicy and a great warming tasty food for out and about, that we all enjoy.

Hope you enjoy it too xx
