Shipwreck!

For years I have promised Ewan we would walk out to the wreck of the Albana in Cleveleys and i really don't know why its taken us so long, apart from we usually go to a different part of the beach and they have been putting in a new prom for the last few years ,so we just haven't got round to it. But now we live round the xorner from this part of the beach we ha e been going more often, but didn't time it right till now with the tide.

We had actually been at Anchorsholme park for most of the day, came home had tea and went straight back out again to the beach. It was such a warm summer evening and the tide was completely out, we couldn't have picked a better time.

The wreck is of the Albana that ran a ground in a storm in 1894. All the crew and ships dog were rescued and the bell was presented to the area and still hangs at St Andrews Church, where I usws to go to Sunday School.
It was nice that Ewan came with us, he often preferes to be with his friends these days, he's at that age, but its nice when he comes with us on outings and i suppose he had waited long enough to go out to the wreck!
Walking back we found quite a bit of sea glass to add to our growing collection. We were out for a couple of hours and the fresh air definable made for a good nights sleep !
