Cable Knit Cosy Cardigan, Baby Cardy & My First Socks!

I have a stack of old knitting patterns plus all the patterns i am constantly pinning, like most other crafters i imagine!! I have some many that are Aran jumpers for all the family and i have been after trying one for a while and earlier this year i finally got around to starting one, but other projects came along, till a few weeks ago when i started finishing projects off to clear the way for me to start a whole host of new ones!!!  I did enjoy doing this one though and i love seeing the little ones wearing it and i say that as both Fred and Alex have worn it out. In the past i have made things for Fred and by the time i have finished they are to small so Alex has worn them so now i make they quite big.

There were a few mistake that i made in the pattern but had done quite a bit after before i realised but i think that just makes them unique... well thats what i am saying anyway

My neighbor had a baby a few weeks ago so i knitted a little Baby Cardigan for him, i love this pattern i made quite a few in the past for my children and i have kept it as its a really quick and easy pattern so makes a nice pressie for a newborn.

So my next make, told you i had done lots of knitting recently!
I don't know why but i have been enjoying knitting more than crochet recently, mmm

Socks for my Dad.

Last year my dad was looking for some 100% merino wool socks like ones he had bought in Australia but couldn't get any here, so i decided to knit him some as i had quite a bit of 100% merino wool left from the Star wars jumper i made for Paul. I have never made socks before and kept putting it off thinking they would be really hard and fiddly, but was surprised as they are fairly easy, these were aran so not as fiddly as 4ply ones. I was making them for Christmas but finished them before his birthday so gave them to him then and he really likes them, so now i know what i can make for him in the future, as he is so difficult to buy for and always tells us not to get him anything.

  1. Wow, you did a great job with these! I'm not much of a knitter myself, though I hope to master it someday. It doesn't come nearly as easily to me as crochet does. Hope you have a good week ahead!

  2. What a great sweater! I'm a slow knitter and I always have more patterns I want to knit than projects I'm actually knitting.
