Wizard of Oz Trail

So finally we found the woodland, just over the road from where we had parked. It wasn't very well signposted and turns out lots of people had got the wrong end of the stick.
But we got there in the end, and look at the amazing carved trees at the enterance

when we arrived we were greeted by the organizers who were all dressed as munchkins wearing stripy socks, they gave us a quiz sheet, that we had to get the answers to on the way around. We even let Ali Walk

We met the Scarecrow

You can't really see on the pictures but they had covered the path in yellow chalk so we could follow the yellow brick road

The Tin Man

The Wicked Witch

You might have noticed that some of the trees have things hanging from them like spoons and pots, They had decorated some trees and named them and that was part of the quiz

Along the path, we saw this, an old pill box, it scared Ewan as it had a memorial statue of a solider on the top, it did look very realistic though

Finally we arrived at the Emerald City

And headed off to meet the Wizaed of Oz

Yay we found him!!

And we sat down with a cup of tea in our new little picnic mugs, while the kids watched a magic show

Ewan climbed some trees

On the way back we saw Dorethy and Glinda the good witch (Not sure how i missed them on the way round)

Just as we got the the car the heavens opened and the rain came down really hard, so couldn't have timed it better!

We went out for some lunch then took home 4 very sleepy kids.
