First week back

This was the view when i got up on the first day back at school, it was misty and there was dew on the cars, it felt right, and felt like a real autumn morning
Walking to school, the sun was shining down on us bit the nip in the air was still there, it felt really calming and nice to be back to walking to school, on days like this its a nice way to start the day.

I know its always the same trying after the holidays to ease yourselves back into the routine, it has its pros and cons and it always takes a bit more effort to achieve.
This year is no different, in some way getting back into more of a routine is nice, i thrive on knowing whats going on and when and where i need to be, and i can't say its not nice to have a bit of time to myself, well with just half the clan to keep busy, i can find some more craft time! also the kids have after school clubs on the same days so i can get some extra extra time. I have been allowing them to stay up later in the holidays, not much, but enough they they are being slightly resistant to the earlier bed times, we have set up homework times again and decided times for other things such as Wednesday night was kids time, when they can have me all to themselves to do what they want to do, crafts, jigsaws, board games etc as i have found that with their hobby's and my commitments gala etc term time can be very busy, so i am making a bigger effort during the week to make time for calm family time. This week they wanted Downfall so we had several games and a few games of cards

On Thursays they can do whatever they can do whatever they like as we have no where to be and on Friday we did some crafting, this week Tie Dyeing, not ready yet so fingers crossed they come out well. We also had a family night out last night, we were going to go to the fireworks, that are on every friday night for the next weeks, but i just didn't feel like it, the kids have never been thrilled with fireworks, so it felt like a waste really, so we had a night out at one of our favorite places and a good night followed by a small lie in was had!

This week i have done quite a bit of knitting on Pauls Starwars jumper, however i was not happy with the colour work and after some personal debate decided to rip it back and change the design slightly. I just decided that with this being such an expensive item to make due to the merino wool that has been used, it had to be right and the colour work was looking bobbly.

So i took it back to below the rust colored line and though i have wasted a few weeks of knitting and looking forward to getting on with it.

Off to let out the inner geek with Paul and heading to Comic Con today
